About

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m Emily Hawthorne, and I’m proud to serve as the Principal of Isbister Elementary. Growing up in this community as a Plymouth-Canton Community Schools K–12 graduate and now raising my family here, I know how special our community is. Being a part of this district for so many years has given me a deep appreciation for the strong foundation we provide for children.
At Isbister, we understand that the elementary years are the building blocks for a lifetime of learning. These early years are where a child’s love for school is shaped, where curiosity sparks, and where friendships and confidence take root. Our theme this year, “You Bee-long Here,” reflects the heart of our mission.
This phrase is more than a slogan—it’s a promise. We are committed to fostering an environment where each child feels connected, valued, and empowered to be their personal best. When students know they truly belong, they come to school excited to learn, grow, and contribute.
Our dedicated team takes pride in building strong relationships, fostering inclusive classroom communities, and upholding the values of safety, kindness, and responsibility in all we do. We also know that building a strong foundation takes partnership, and we are incredibly grateful to work alongside our families and our active PTO to create meaningful learning experiences.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. On behalf of our team, we’re so glad you’re here!
